The night before I left England to go and study in Japan my friend Oli bought me a pint in The Railway Tavern and gave me The Scenery of Farewell by Two Gallants on CD.
A few years later when I was leaving the country again I sold my entire CD collection, but that gift stuck with me - It become a bit of a mascot for going places and making bittersweet life decisions.
This evening as I was playing around with the last.fm thingy on the homepage of this website I ended up listening to it again and was taken back 16 years to that night and that gift.
